BY RAIL - From the North: Trains leave from Glasgow, Central station to Dumfries direct. You do not have to go via Carlisle.

From the South: West coast line to Carlisle and change for connection to Dumfries. Tickets can be cheaper if you buy one to Carlisle and purchase a separate ticket from Carlisle to Dumfries. Can be bought on the Dumfries train.

If leaving from London, trains leave from Euston station.

BY BUS - Busses travel from all major cities to Dumfries. There are regular busses to Beeswing from Dumfries.

BY AIR - The airport closest to us is Prestwick (sometimes called Glasgow (Prestwick) From here you can get a bus or train to Dumfries

Glasgow City Airport is a bit further but as convenient. There are trains and busses from the airport to the centre of Glasgow where you can catch a train or a bus to Dumfries.

There are flights to Edinburgh but if you plan to travel on to Dumfries by Train flying to Glasgow is better as you will anyway have to travel to Glasgow to connect to the train line to Dumfries.
