MP opens Newton Dee extension.
MUSICIANS played, a tree was planted, a presentation made and refreshments consumed at Newton Dee on the 18th May when Anne Begg, MP for Aberdeen South, officially opened the extended kitchen for the community's café. The whole community plus guests were there for the occasion which came almost 10 years after Anne officially opened the Newton Dee community's café, giftshop and store in November 1997. It was wonderful that Anne could join us to mark the café's success.
The popularity of the café had made a larger kitchen a vital necessity and the extra space is much appreciated by those who work there.

Anne Begg (above right) plants the tree watched by Colin Haldane and assisted by Jake Vollrath and (far right) receives a presentation from Eileen Conley to mark the celebrations. Musicians played (right) in the cafe to celebrate the official opening.
